Honestly one of the best climbs I have done, only Raindogs could be less polished

I actually knew I was going to do Rainshadow on the Friday. On the Thursday I went to the Peak to do some easier climbing to waken up the body and mind. I found myself having an onsight go on Ninth Life, an E7 down Chee Dale. I felt amazing, I couldn't fall off that day so I confidently set off in the sun. I fell off high up with the sun shining in my eyes. It was quite a huge fall but that just got me more psyched. I pulled the ropes and did it next go for a more boring ascent. Friday dawned, it was the day to make the third ascent of Rainshadow…

Well I just did it. That was it, all that effort distilled down to a few minutes climbing.

Saturday dawned, it was time to go a win a bouldering competition. Well I did just that and took home £300. [2]

It was my 6th week of trying this year and 12th session. The Redpoint for me was pretty all out as usual. The crux is pretty close to the limit of my power, so doing it after climbing Raindogs requires a bit of mental tenacity. I guess you could say this is one of my strengths, as I'm almost as weak as Steve (McClure).

With this ascent Toby became the youngest brit (aged 15) to climb 9a.
