As I managed to grab this hold, completely pumped, I was overwhelmed with the greatest feeling of happiness that day. It was still thrilling to climb up to the anchor, knowing there were still two challenging pitches left. But anyway, I knew I had a good chance to send it that day.

I love this kind of tension in climbing—those moments where everything has to be perfect, where you have to be 100% focused and just fight your way through. [2]

Climbed via the boulder problem variation. Babsi and partner Jacopo Larcher swung leads on the easy pitches but both led all the hard pitches. [3]

While various others had come close, with this ascent Babsi became the first person to flash a free route on el cap.
