West Indian Face Trad climb E8 1

A line has been led from the peg on A Midsummer Night's Dream to the good foothold on The Rite of Spring and then on to finish up Indian Face. On the only ascent to date the leader considered a crucial runner on The Indian Face to have been enhanced and he later filled the placement. Thus the route has not been climbed without this runner, though of course The Indian Face has.

West Side Story Boulder problem 7B+ 1

John Allen on the name:

I nearly did it quite quickly but I jumped off because I didn't want to dyno for a hold. It [dynoing] was almost thought of as slightly bad style in those days which is ridiculous, as now it's almost an art in itself, but I thought I'll jump off and I'll do it alright next time. I couldn't get back up there for ages!...That was quite a frustrating climb really. That's why I called it what I did, because it went on and on and on!
