Mike had previously climbed The Bells! The Bells! which shares the same middle section, the rest of the climbing was completely onsight.

Onsighting is dangerous, trad climbing is dangerous and onsighting hard, bold trad routes is ridiculously dangerous. It's levels of acceptable risk, but also a strange belief in the strength of RPs helps. [1]

I basically think that ascent probably was one of the pivotal, benchmark ascents of British onsight climbing to date. [1]
