Noah Wheeler is a young and up and coming boulderer who currently resides in Colorado, USA. He is one half of Wheel Rock with his brother Benn Wheeler.

Noah burst onto the scene in 2022 in which he repeated three 8C/V15 boulders with G-Master, Paint it Black, and Delirium. In 2024 Noah repeated Sleepwalker 8C+/V16 and Insomniac 8C+/V16. In the dying days of 2024 Noah repeated the infamous Return of the Sleepwalker 9A/V17 at only 22 years of age, this made him the youngest person to climb 9A/V17 at the time of his ascent.

Second ascent. 14 sessions.

Difficult 8B (some argue 8B+) into 1 move 8A+/8B into 1 move 8A/8A+ implies soft 9A to me. In iso, for the last few sessions, I was able to climb the intro boulder 95% of the time, the crux throw 75% of the time, and the last move 100% of the time. Yet linking these sections together felt super improbable. I really had to push for my determination to trump my expectations. [2]

Surprised myself with a send of this one after 5 days off from the flu. Maybe losing weight, even from sickness, makes you send. One of the most technical (that is to say, not strength or finger reliant) climbs I’ve had the privilege of trying.

8 years later. With campus-board beta because my span is slightly too short to keep good tension on the low feet. Amazing how there's so many different ways to do the boulder dependant on one's body type, each providing similar difficulty and top-tier nuanced movement. Proudest send so far. [2]

First ascent.

The start hold broke making the problem significantly harder.

Post-break FA. The Jade of Lincoln! Start hold almost completely broke off, forcing a different starting hand beta involving a right hand one finger full crimp on a tiny flat hold. The first move is now a dynamic throw into a half pad left hand 2/3 finger mini pinch. The move felt much harder than the Jade move and is certainly one of the hardest moves I’ve ever done. Probably one move v13 into v11. Thinking V14/15 [3]
