Silence is a route established by Adam Ondra in 2017. It is the first ever sport route to be graded french 9c, assuming repeat ascentionists confirm the grade.
The crux of the route is a notoriously strange boulder problem. There are a few sequences, but Adam's original method involves feet-first jamming through the slopey crack.
4 recorded ascents, including 3 unsuccessful ascents.

First ascent.
The first 9c in the world and a new benchmark in sport climbing. Adam spent a lot of time training specifically for the route, going as far as to strengthen his calves so he could get a better rest out of the kneebars. References |
