As well as being the first Brit to climb 8C+ he was also the first to climb 9A with his repeat of <a href="/climber/671/shawn-raboutou">Shawn Raboutou's</a> <a href="/climb/1919/alphane">Alphane</a> in <a href="/crag/3879/chironico">Chironico</a>.</p>
