Rock-climbing sections of the Sierra Club. The San Francisco Bay Chapter section grew out of the Cragmont Climbing Club in 1932, and the Southern California (Angeles) section followed in 1934 and ran until 1985. They introduced roped and piton climbing to California and trained many of the climbers of Yosemite's golden age. [1] [2]
