British Mountaineer, Guide and Author. Notable for his exploratory new-routing especially in the North West Highlands in winter and for epic enchainments. The latter included all 273 Munros in one winter and all 73 4000m Alpine peaks in a single self-powered journey. He died in an avalanche on Nanda Devi East in the Indian Himalayas.
