<p>Mancunian rock climber predominantly active in the 1920s and 1930s. Despite a shrapnel injury to his hand in 1915 which nearly resulted in amputation he became a strong and forceful first ascentionist most notably on Peak District Gritstone and <a href="/crag/457/clogwyn-du'r-arddu" rel="noopener noreferrer">Cloggy</a>.
