Third ascent.
With Hamish MacInnes, Chris Bonington and Paul Ross.

All-star team makes the first British ascent. MacInnes sustained a head injury from rock-fall but completed the route cementing his hard-man reputation and Whillans' for keeping calm and carrying on.
