Maybe there's someone better?
There's some other people who are good in their individual disciplines, but for me no one else matches his breadth and depth of experience.
But he hasn't climbed many hard boulder problems, or flashed 8C...

Best rock climber without a shadow of doubt. You could make a case for one or two people surpassing him in one discipline or other but, for excellence across disciplines, it's not even close is it? Probably not reasonable to compare comp. records with climbing on rock nowadays.

I was obviously too polite to point that out! It's entertaining he's quite possibly first to 9A even though he doesn't see himself as primarily a boulderer and is mainly doing it at the moment because it makes child-care easier (a feeling I share!).
Ha, surely just another sign of our lord and saviour's greatness that even at such an advanced level he his still finding ways to progress!
