Just subjective, but it feels like he should have more hard boulders to his name than we currently have recorded. Only a single 8C and a handful of 8B+?!
It was all pretty cutting edge and exciting at the time.
For context, in 2000 OTE published a list of Brits who’d climbed 8A. It was a very short list, not more than 20 people.
Yeah you're right. Just looking over his profile, his 'bouldering era' was relatively early, up to about 2005, where 8B+/8C was the top level. I'd not appreciated he'd transitioned so fully to sport climbing after that, but kinda makes sense as that's around the time he moved to Spain where there's obviously a lot of good routes to go at.
