I asked JD in 1998 how he did it. He said he took a couple of dimples in the middle of the slab and double dynoed to the top. Said he didn’t use the seam at all. So that’s how I went about trying it.
I think the true line here is still possible and would be up there with the Fukano Slab in Japan.

I wasn’t sure whether to log Mike Adams’s ascent. If you look at the pic from the other angle, he’s climbed Velvet Silence without the arête. This is not much harder than Velvet Silence and it’s not the Angel’s Share. But it’s not for CH editors to be validating ascents, so have just added the shot from the other angle and the quote that he climbed it ‘slightly right’. People can make up their own mind.
Good call. Particularly tricky on something like this where the exact line isn't totally obvious.
