Ken Wilson writing in Mountain Magazine:
Of all the great alpine climbers of that exciting decade prior to the Second World War, Riccardo Cassin stands out as the most distinguished. His three outstanding North Face climbs on the Grandes Jorasses, the Cima Ovest and the Piz Badile marked him out as an alpinist of the highest calibre. They formed the corner-stone of the career of one of the greatest climbers of our time. [3]
