Eagle-4 | 9b Sport route at Saint Léger

France / Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur / Vaucluse

Bolted by Elie Morieux in 2013.

The name is a pun based on the fact the equipper Elie Morieux is known for some impressive power screams. [2]

"Eagle" = y (il) gueule = he shouts/screams, "-" = tiret ~ très* = very, "four" = fort = loud(ly) => Y gueule très fort (he screams really loudly) [1]

I’m downgrading because before finding a new method, I was already asking myself the question of “is it 9b?”. Obviously we ask ourselves this kind of question when we try a hard route… and during the work a friend who was belaying me said “Pierrot here I think there is a kneebar, I’m sure” I tried the kneebar, I found it and liked it, and I used it, so yes it’s a great new plan!
