<p>Brian Rhodes joined the Rucksack Club in 1956 through the Manchester University Mountaineering Club and served on its committee for 43 years, as Hon. Secretary from 1962 to 1991, President in 1992-93 and Hut Co-ordinator from 1993 to 2003; he found the barn that became the club's High Moss hut. He studied law at Manchester University, climbed widely in the Alps from the age of 16, and completed the Munros in 2002.</p>
