Amazing that a ripe plumb like that was only done in 76! I guess it is quite committing, especially without pads or sticky rubber boots. Still feels pretty high today.

You can't underestimate how unusual bouldering was outside West Yorkshire at that time. I can remember Bob Berzins suggesting we go bouldering in Burbage Valley in about 1979. A bizarre idea I thought!
