UKC has the date as 1984, but it's reported in the July/Aug 1985 issue of Mountain. I'd have thought Mountain would have been a little more up to date, but could just be some slow reporting?
84 in the guide. Assume that would have been based on the new routes books. Stoney one perhaps?
I've had a look therough Phil Kelly's RockArchivist copies of the Stoney new route book. Unfrotunately it looks like '83 and '84 are missing (or never existed?) as it goes from '82 to '85. Had a browse through the relevant bit of 85 and couldn't see a mention of Ai No, so I reckon 84 is the most likely year.
