This 8a.nu article [1] mentions that Claude has established over 15,000 FAs in the last 40 years. Can anyone find another source for this? Obviously he and his brother are extraordinarily prolific, but 15k seems very high. Comparing to Gary Gibson who is also extraordinarily prolific and established 5000 FAs in ~45 years ('77 to '21), tripling that number seems a monumental effort.

Some more napkin maths: 15000 routes / 40 years = 375 FAs / year. The article mentions he works ~half time, so let's go low and say he works 15 wks/yr, that leaves 37 weeks or ~259 climbing days / year. That'd mean he's averaging 1.44 new routes every single non-working day for the last 40 years.

Reading a bit more the more common statement seems to be an "estimated 15000 pitches between home and Yves". Obviously still loads but that sounds more plausible.

Climbed or just bolted?

Usual wording is FAs which to me implies bolted + climbed. Having said that, I would say it probably doesn't make a huige difference? It seems like they tend to equip easier stuff, so the work to clean and bolt the routes is pretty high compared to the redpoint.
