Should this be Peʻahi?

Assuming it is named after the surf spot [1] it's usually spelt Peʻahi. Nalle called it Peahi in his insta post, and all the sources I can find also spell it the same way though. Should we be 'correcting' a name given by the FA if it seems like it's misspelt?

Ah right, I guess it looks a bit like a breaking wave. Nice. Don't think we should be changing 'incorrect' names (see Imothep).

re Imothep I don't think that's actually a misspelling (unless the business it was named after was misspelt? Not impossible of course)

The name is from a local business that used to operate nearby but has since gone out of business, not a misspelling of the ancient Egyptian chancellor Imhotep.

Gotta admit I can't make any sense of that bleau.info comment 😅 The current write up on the page is based on some emails I swapped with Bart Van Rajj, who in turn messaged Julien Nadiras about it.

At a lower grade, Macavity was named Mercavity by Bonnington, a mistake he acknowledges. It was Mercavity in all guidebooks until the latest CC Avon guide where it was changed to Macavity. https://climbing-history.org/climb/7132/macavity
