Suggested additions:

  1. "Chert" for Mitake [or limestone in places according to wikipedia- TdG care to comment?].

  2. "Serpentinite" for Rifugio di Barbara (Exodia), according to Iagnemma's ukc interview.

Both important venues where the nature of the rock seems relevant to the style of climbing.

  1. "Artificial" if we are to include Artificial Structures, to cover everything from Derek Dooley Bridge to Taipei 101?

  2. "Unknown" for crags/boulders which are hard to guess and unimportant.

Good shout, added those in.

If anyone with some proper geology knowledge happens across this at some point, I'd be interested to improve these categorisations at some point. I suspect the current setup is pretty lacking in terms of communicating the geological reality i.e. presumably some of the current rock types are just minor variations.

Mitake can’t be limestone because it’s not chipped or glued 😀
