Im trying to work out where this is, it's an 8a+/b that Lynn made the FA of in 1989 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynn_Hill) but I can't seem to find many references to the route online.

It's on Bonticou, Native American reserve land, and it has been requested that routes there are undocumented so we wont find much .

Good knowledge. What do you think to whether we record it on here? Could jsut keep it very light on details, and perhaps add a note about it being on reserve land.

I've dropped Russ Clune an email to get his view on it.

Thanks. I'll be interested to hear what Russ thinks. My view is it is reasonable to record a route's existence and very rough location, for historical purposes, and I have done so including a note to the effect that local practice is details are not recorded. Hill mentions it on her website and we're not adding to this.

I'm inclined to agree, though if Russ says otherwise I think we should defer to him as a local expert.

Had a funny reply from Russ 😅 I'll DM you the details, but short version is it's on private land and the current owner isn't very friendly to climbers. It's not on preservation land so no worries about documenting it. Russ also kindly supplied some extra details which I've added to the page Running Man.

Thanks for the message! Good old Russ... he should write a book or something!
