7C+ or 8A?

Seems to be fairly split opinion on this, on 8a.nu it's 22 for 7C+ and 16 for 8A. UKC votes lean more to 8A. Tricky one as it seems pretty span dependent so can imagine it's pretty 8A if you're short but more 7C+ if you're tall.

It was 8A originally. It's 7C+ in the 2011 guide – though that was written by Steve Dunning who has a span longer than the Forth Bridge. It's 8A in 2014 YG Vol 2 by Dave Sutcliffe and Adi Gill. However, since these guides were published, I think people have become better at the very steep compression style, and this seems to be reflected in the trend towards 7C+ on the 8a.nu logs. I'd go with 7C+, based on that, and the principle that if there's an even split in opinion we should take the lower grade.

(this bit might not be true)

Checked in with the ever-prolific Jack Pal and he reckoned it's basically just a span thing. Said it felt 8A with his 5ft6 span.

I think I feel a bit guilty putting it down to 7C+ because it's mainly ascents for women that we have recorded, so likely to be more towards the 8A end for them (generally shorter spans).

Mina logged it at 7C+ – worth asking her too?

Wasnt there a fire beneath it recently? Couldve made it a little harder?
