Anyone know when JW moved the US? I'm assuming '82 after doing Beau Geste, since that's when the new grit routes seem to dry up (unless I've missed something). John Allen also writes about Woodward appearing in Camp 4 at that time.

Also Supertopo seems to be back up again.

Great news re supertopo! Would be interesting to see if there's a way of making an archival copy. I don't suppose you know anything about who runs it? The easiest way would probably be if there's some sort of database backup, then I could just make a copy for safe keeping.

I've dropped Chris McNamara an email about making a backup of supertopo forum, hopefully he gets my email and is keen 🤞

Good luck with McNamara. Apparently there have never been archive copies, does this mean he has actively blocked this?

When McNamara stopped the forum he had all images removed. Reason given was something to do with copyright concerns if I recall correctly. I can understand why he wanted to pull the plug on the forum which had gone the way of any lightly moderated online space but the removal of photos was an unusual decision and it may mean he is not keen to have the forum archived.

yeah the site is not archived on the wayback machine which is quite unusual. There's a list of all the sites which are not on there here https://wiki.archiveteam.org/index.php?title=List_of_websites_excluded_from_the_Wayback_Machine I don't know the details, but I can only assume he got in touch with archive.org (who run wayback machine) and requested supertopo was excluded.
