Roth grew up climbing in Salt Lake City, UT, and was a fixture in the competitive climbing scene during the late 90s and early 2000s. He appeared in influential climbing films like Bring the Ruckus alongside legends like Chris Sharma. Roth is known for the first ascent of Rastaman Vibrations (8A+) and The Butterfinger (8A+) in Bishop as well as many Joes Valley classics including Trent's Mom (7C+) and Jitterbug Perfume (7C+). Roth also has multiple repeats of classics including the second ascent of [ I Scream (8c+) in American Fork Canyon and the 3rd ascent of The Mandala (8A+). Roth eventually stepped away from professional climbing to later purchase and bring back the iconic climbing hold company Pusher, where he currently shapes and designs holds. |
