Carlisle based climber active in the 1970s and early 80s. Died in an abseiling accident on Llech Ddu in the early 1980s.

Scottish climber, mountaineer, explorer, equipment designer, mountain rescuer, and author. Developed the MacInnes lightweight stretcher, the first all-metal ice axe, and the Terrordactyl - an early dropped-pick ice tool.
