He joined the SMC in 1946 by way of the JMCS, climbed Crowberry Gully in snow and ice in March 1936 with Rob Anderson, and did much practical work on the Club huts, particularly Lagangarbh and the CIC Hut. He was made Honorary Vice-President in 1986. [1]
