Arthur Walker Russell, O.B.E., W.S., was a lawyer who joined the Scottish Mountaineering Club in 1896 and served as Custodian of Slides, Librarian and Vice-President; he was also a member of the Alpine Club. As Secretary of the Scottish Rights of Way Society and law agent to the National Trust for Scotland he played a large part in the Trust's acquisition of Glencoe and Dalness, working closely with Percy Unna.
