James Maclay, LL.B., a partner in a legal firm, joined the Scottish Mountaineering Club in 1892, took part in several new expeditions and climbed for many years in the Alps with his sisters and brother-in-law Godfrey Solly. Maclay's Chimney on the north peak of the Cobbler is named after him. [1]
