Dundee-based climber, an engineering draughtsman who co-founded the Tool Design Company, with over 60 first ascents in Scotland including Ardverikie Wall (1967, with Graeme Hunter) and Slav Route on Ben Nevis; he made a long winter partnership with Neil Quinn. He joined the SMC in 1969, was President 1992-1994 and was Distribution Manager of the Journal for 36 years; he was killed while out alone in A Gully, Coire Fee, Glen Doll, in 2011. [1] [2]
