Glasgow-born doctor who settled in Liverpool, a First World War RFC pilot, who made no fewer than twenty first ascents on Ben Nevis and edited its rock-climbing guide. He joined the SMC in 1926, was President from 1952 to 1954, completed the Munros in 1955, and was killed descending El Teide in the Canary Islands in February 1963. [1]
