Chartered accountant, grandson of Lord Provost Sir George Harrison, who chaired Standard Life and was a founder of the Association for the Preservation of Rural Scotland and a leading figure in forming the National Trust for Scotland. He joined the SMC in 1918, climbed guideless in the Alps with Frank Smythe, was Secretary from 1931 to 1935 and President from 1945 to 1948, and was Honorary President for some 21 years. [1]
