Harold Gerrard was an electrical engineer and Senior Lecturer at Manchester University. He joined the Rucksack Club in 1924, devised the Colne-Rowsley walk with Fred Heardman in 1926 and completed it in 1927, and assisted at the foundation of the MUMC in 1928. He died in 1975. [1]
