John Richardson was a long-distance walker and fell runner in the Rucksack Club; with Mike Cudahy he finished fourth in the elite section of the Karrimor Mountain Marathon in 1976, and in 1981 they were the first veteran pair to finish the Karrimor Mountain Trial. His time for the 120-mile Tan Hill to Cat and Fiddle walk was beaten in 1979, and he made the trophy that Ted Dance proposed for the first veterans' team in the High Peak Marathon. [1] [2] [3] [4]
