Vin Dillon joined the Rucksack Club in the late 1940s and, with Herbert Hartley and Vin Desmond, made first ascents on Kinder Great Buttress, including Trio Wall and Extinguisher Chimney. He climbed in the Alps in the early 1950s, including the Zmutt Ridge of the Matterhorn and the north-west face of the Dent d'HΓ©rens, and from 1960 ran the club's high camps for 30 years. He was made president of the club in 1972. [1]
