Edgar Pryor was a founder of the Hobnail Club who joined the Rucksack Club, sat on its committee within two years and was its president within six years. He led new rock routes and climbed widely in the Alps, including the Meije. In 1928 he was knocked off a ledge on Laddow's Long Climb, an accident that led to the loss of a leg and to the work that produced the mountaineering clubs' rescue committee. [1] [2]
