Charles Herbert Pickstone was a solicitor practising near Manchester and active in the Rucksack Club from its first night, its first Chairman of Committee and later its president. He climbed the Obergabelhorn, Rothorn, Aletschhorn and Rimpfischhorn in Switzerland, but mostly walked and scrambled in Wales, the Lake District and Scotland. [1]
