British mountaineer (née Briggs), possibly the first woman to climb Kilimanjaro, who took over the leadership of the 1959 women's expedition to Cho Oyu. She joined the Pinnacle Club in 1956, aged 51, and was its secretary, president from 1963 and vice-president. [1] [2] [3] [4]
