John Hubert Emlyn Jones, chartered surveyor and wartime bomb-disposal officer (MBE), joined H. W. Tilman's exploration of the Annapurna region, led the reserve team for the 1953 Everest expedition and led the 1959 Ama Dablam expedition. He was president of the Climbers' Club (1966–69) and of the Alpine Club (1980–82). [1]
