Another time, in 1953, a party o f six squeezed into Ted's spacious Jaguar. From Helyg they drove to Fort William, climbed Ben Nevis, back to the Lakes, climbed Scafell, enjoyed dinner in Lancaster, then on to Pen y Pass and up Snowdon comfortably within 24 hours from departing Ben Nevis, the first party to achieve this.
